Description[pic] [pic] Meetings « Métiers of Art and Design in Europe » (Closing Seminar of the European Cultural program DREAM « Design Research Art Métiers of Europe ») With the support of Madame Catherine Dumas, Senator of Paris Monday May 30, 2011 from 9:30- 17:30 at the Senate in Paris 15 rue de Vaugirard 75006 Paris COMMUNICATION The National Institute of Métiers of Art and the partners of the European program DREAM (*) organize for this coming Monday May 30th from 9:30-17:30 at the Senate (Clémenceau room) in Paris, Meetings « Métiers of Art and Design in Europe » On the occasion of the closing seminar of the program DREAM. These European meetings have the objective of presenting the innovative practices in the sector of métiers of art in order to encourage the initiatives of renewing productions and to promote collaborating between designers and artisans of art. During these meetings the actions of the program DREAM will be presented first: 1 - A Focal Image métiers of art - Creation of a base of given « images » of European productions of references; - Creation of an internet site, a window of the « Focal Image », edition of a catalogue of productions 2 - « Master Class » European Métiers of Art Put in place an experimental research under the form of a Master Class « métiers of art and design" in each partner country aimed at: - A new approach to the practice allying tradition and modernity, patrimony and creativity, art and economy, - A new generation of professionals « artisans of art :designers », - An offer of production adapted for the actual economy market. In favor of these presentations, two round tables will be organized on the positioning of métiers of art in their reports in design, in applied arts with the actors of these projects and with the experts of partner countries of one project or others, notably of Denmark, Great Britain, and Portugal... around the following question: What assessment can we draw from these innovations and what impact will they have on training courses and on the diffusion of productions?
