This article highlights the real development happening in India, where the great diversity and skills of the rural lands is effectively harnessed and channeled. The creation of the revolutionary fabric 'malkha' has brought about this development. The production process by combining traditional Indian principles of cloth making with modern small-scale technology has made this entire textile chain from cotton to cloth village-based. This has created a means of sustainable livelihood for the vilagers.
