Traditional knowledge systems, intellectual property rights and their relevance for sustainable development

This report presents the discussion on the safeguarding of traditional knowledge in the Indian context. Considering the relevance of traditional knowledge in the current socio-economic climate when the increasing effect of globalisation is marginalising the tribal communities, it is recommended in the report to establish database, to document the skillls and provide the education of rigths to these traditon bearers.
